Behaviour of header/footer dialog
The toolbar doesn't bother me. The wierd behaviour, as I said, is: "At certain spots if I double-click on the header of one page, it will skip to another page, and the header will become editable. But then when I hit "close" on the header/footer dialog, it goes back, and it was the header on the initial page that was changed after all." And in general, with my installation of Word (2003) there seems to be no rhyme or reason when I edit headers. If I double click on a header to edit it, Word might suddenly jump to the header on a whole other page, not even in the same section. In addition to this problem, I've seen cases where I change one header and all headers above it change, even when "Same as Previous" is not selected. katin42 Wrote: The little toolbar pops up, because this feature is not a part of your shortcuts menu. If this is used regularly, the next time it pops up, drag it to a convenient section on the toolbar. Then it will remain. Otherwise, state the nature of the unwanted behavior, or dialogue, and vesion of Word being used. "J-Dogg" wrote: - Sorry, I meant the little toolbar that pops up. -- J-Dogg - -- J-Dogg |

When you double-click in the header pane, you are editing the header that
appears on that page. But it may not start on that page; Word may jump to the first page of the section, or the first page on which that header appears (if you have "Different first page" or "Different odd and even" enabled). This is normal. -- Suzanne S.
