Default Word - 2000 - Custom page numbering in table of contents

Is there a way to insert custom numbering into the table of contents. For
example, I have an Appendix A and the numbering for that section is A-1, A-2,
etc., and I had an Appendix B that has the number B-1, B-2, etc. and so on
through Appendix N. Is there a away to make the Table of Contents show the
pages as A-1, B-1, etc.?

The TOC will show this numbering if it has been created using the "Include
chapter number" feature. See
