Go to the place where you set the spellcheck controls (different in different versions of Word) and uncheck the box for "Check grammar along with spelling" or words to that effect. |

Turn off the automatic grammar checking while you type from Word's Options.

Are you seeing a message that says, "Word is finishing analyzing your
document"? If so, you'll find from http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-881649.php that this issue bamboozled a lot of us back in 2005, and the 2004 thread (http://groups.google.com/group/micro...k+to+Search&&d) referenced in the that thread suggests that some people got relief by uninstalling various add-ins, but I don't think any definitive solution has ever been found, but the thread at http://www.techtalkz.com/microsoft-o...-document.html mentions various Adobe add-ins (including Adobe Elements) and also specifically a Dymo Label Writer add-in: -- Suzanne S.
