adding text
In a document, when I add new text to an existing paragraph, instead of
pushing the current text forward, it deletes it letter by letter as I type. How do I undo this? |

You're in overtype mode, and that key toggles between overtype and insert modes. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |

Hi Tom-
It seems you have gotten into Overtype Mode. You can either press the Ins key or go to ToolsOptionsEdit and remove the check to deactivate it. You are in Overtype mode. Press the Insert key once OR double-click OVR on
the status bar. -- Suzanne S.
