Water mark on second page
I have created a document with a watermark on the first page.
The moment I insert the second page it automatically adds the watermark. I do not want the watermark in the rest of the document. Can someone out there please help me. Thank you Jakes |

I think you have to put in a section break and then turn off the "same as
previous" in the header (or footer) section of the second page. "Jakes4rie" wrote: I have created a document with a watermark on the first page. No, all you need is to go to File Page Setup Layout and check the box
for "Different first page", and then cut the watermark from the secoond-page header and paste it into the first-page header. See http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/wordfaqs/Letterhead.htm, in the section titled "Letterhead for a multi-page letter", for complete instructions. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Shannon wrote: I think you have to put in a section break and then turn off the "same as previous" in the header (or footer) section of the second page. I don't know that the Insert Watermark utility has settings for this.
However, a watermark is merely a graphic (or text) in a header or footer. Go into the header/footer view and select the graphic. Cut it. On the header/footer toolbar, click the button for page setup and check different first page. OK your way out of that dialog box. You should now be in the "First page header." Paste your graphic back in. Close the header/footer view. Take a look at: How to set up letterhead or some other document where you want one header on the first page and a different header on other pages. http://www.addbalance.com/word/headersfooters.htm Hope this helps, -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
