Word 2007 doing virus scan
In Word 2007, frequently when a document is opened it takes a long time to
do so, and there is a message that the document is being scanned for viruses! Why would a file being opened from inside the same computer need to be scanned? In any case, I cannot find in Help anything about a virus scan inside Word. How do I turn off this wonderful feature? Thanks. Larry |

Word is not doing the virus scan. Your antivirus program is and that's why
there was nothing in Word's Help file - but I am glad to read that you tried looking the info up first. You need to check your settings on your antivirus program. It's in there. -- JoAnn Paules Microsoft MVP - Publisher How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "Larry" wrote in message ... Word 2007 doing virus scan
Thanks. I see. It's not Microsoft Office Word 2007 that is doing this
wonderful thing. It is Microsoft Windows Vista that is doing this wonderful thing. Vista is designed as though it were meant for use in a top secret section of the Defense Department, will its constant double checks on every little change that you make. No, Vista is not scanning either. It is the ANti Virus utility.

Word 2007 doing virus scan
But the owner of the computer did not install any anti-virus utility, so it
must have come with Windows Vista. Well, maybe it was installed by Compaq and has nothing to do with Windows Vista... "Terry Farrell" wrote in message ... No, Vista is not scanning either. Word 2007 doing virus scan
New computers come with something installed. I think my HP had Symantec. I
dumped it immediately and installed AVG. -- JoAnn Paules Microsoft MVP - Publisher How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 "Larry" wrote in message ...
