Default Mailmerge displays record's index number instead of the data.

My mailmerge document in Word 2002 displays the linked query field's index
number and not the data (Access 2002). How would i fix this?

If the information that you see is enclosed inside { }, then:

1. You are looking at the mailmerge main document and the display of
field codes is toggled on (Alt+F9)

2. You have not executed the merge, but are just pre-viewing the results.
You must execute the merge to a New Document or the Printer to see the data
from each of the records.

Turn on the display of the Mail Merge toolbar by selecting Toolbars from the
View menu and then check the Mail Merge item. Then use the buttons on the
right hand end of the toolbar to execute the merge to the desired
destination.

I have seen this before and I suspect that the only ways to get around are
likely to be
a. change the way Word is connecting to Access (check Word
Tools|Option|General|"Confirm conversions at open, go through the connection
process again and choose DDE or ODBC. No use if you're using Unicde data.
b. "it is to create a "real" query in Access with the necessary inner joins
(or use old-style "WHERE maintable.lookupkey = lookuptable.lookupkey) and
use that as the data source.

I don't know for sure that either approach will work.
