Turning off cross-reference feature
Is there a way to just turn this feature off? I inherited a document, and I
want to get rid of these cross references, but I don't want to have to delete each one individually. Thanks, |

Press Alt-F9 to display field codes, then use Find and replace to delete the
fields you don't want. ^d is the search string for 'field' "Shana" wrote in message ... Is there a way to just turn this feature off? I inherited a document, and I want to get rid of these cross references, but I don't want to have to delete each one individually. Thanks, |

Turning off cross-reference feature
If you would like to convert all your cross-references to plain text, then
you can CTRL+A to select the entire document and then press CTRL+SHIFT+F9. Caution - this process will convert All your fields to text, not just the cross-references, so all Tables of Contents, etc. will be converted. -- Dawn Crosier Microsoft MVP "Education Lasts a Lifetime" This message was posted to a newsgroup, Please post replies and questions to the group so that others can learn as well.
