Default Formatting sections from numbers to letters (3-721) to A-1 to A-B

I have a document that has over 900 pages. It starts with blank page, ii,
through X, then section 1-1, then 2-1, then 3-1, now I need to number
Appendixes in the back and start with A-1 (that works) but when I go to the B
Appendix - I need B-1 and so on to Appendix F. It will only put in B-1 on
the remainer of the pages. I have a section break between the Appendixes...
WHAT am I doing wrong???
