Default Opening an attachment in Word...

When I try to open an attachment I downloaded from my web e-mail client, it
automatically opened into notepad with a bunch of junk. When I tried to open
it into word, it gave me the error message, "***** is not a valid web
archive," and would not open it. Help?

What is the attachment supposed to be? If it is supposed to be a Word
document then it appears to be corrupt. Ask the sender to zip it and send it
again. Note that you should always save attachments to the hard drive before
attempring to open them. Opening directly from the e-mail message is one of
the most frequent causes of complaint here about data loss.
