Default Header not showing in document

I have a template .dot file that I use. In the template I have a header.
When I select a new document and use the template the header dose not show on
the screen, it used to. It shows up in print preview and prints OK.
Any ideas how to fix this

In Word, make sure you are in Print Layout view, and click on
Tools | Options | View | check the "White space between pages"
box | OK.
