"Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error"
Please help me fix this problem. I have no idea what a "file permission
error" is... I've been using Office 2000, I still am using Office 2000 and this is the first time i've seen this. I was trying to save to a 1.44 meg floppy. The file is 224 k. Please tell me why i can't save this file. (By the way, the disk has 1.11 megs of used space) |

Don't ever save directly to a floppy (or any other removable media).
Instead, save to the HD, then Copy or Send to the floppy. -- Suzanne S. I'll take Suzanne's advice one step further. When working within Word, act
as if your floppy drive does not exist! Don't do anything with a file on a floppy from within Word. If you do, eventually you will lose work, probably at the most inopportune time. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error"
Don't ever save directly to a floppy (much less open directly from one).
That's one of the quickest ways to corrupt your file. Instead, save to the hard drive and then copy or Send to the floppy. -- Suzanne S.
