Default Problems with formatting

A word document created in Word 97

When opening the document in Word 2003 the formatting is all over the place

No bullet points, different fonts, no numbering, images not positioned
correctly

Any suggestions / help would be appreciated

Hi ?B?R1dMZXdpcw==?=,

No bullet points, different fonts, no numbering, images not positioned
correctly

Hard to be sure, but...

In Tools/Template and Addins is the checkbox to update styles automatically
activated? If it is, that means the original template with which this
document was linked is missing (or has been replaced), so your not getting
the same formatting coming through this link.
