Assuming your section numbers are set up as numbered lists...

Use the Insert | Reference | Cross-reference function:
1) You'll see a list of numbered items in your document (by default although
you can pick other things to cross-referece)--highlight the one you want.
2) Select "Paragraph number" for "Insert reference to" (which will be the
default--but you can also select text, page numbers, etc. if you want)
3) Select Insert

Since this is inserting a field in your document, when the section numbers
change, the best way to update is Select All (Ctrl-A) then F9 to update all
fields.
