Default Backspace Function - Highlight to Delete Text

Hello,

Lately, when I highlight text/content and press the Backspace Key, the
word doesn't erase. I can't type over the highlighted text either. The
cursor just moves to the place before the text I'm trying to type over.

The Delete button does work though for my work purposes, I really need
the Backspace Key function.

Thanks in advance.
