That's the whole idea of a template. Put the logo, PAGE field, and
confidential information in the header of a document and save it as a template. -- Suzanne S. Master template
Hi ?B?TGF2YW55YQ==?=,
I want to have a template, which will automatically fill up my header and footer (logo, page number and confidential information) when i insert it into my document. Can anyone tell me if it is possible? if so how? Templates in Word work a bit differently: you create a new document from them. Once the document is created, a template doesn't automatically insert any more content into a document. Try setting up a document with those items you list above. In File/Save As, save it as the file type Word template (*.dot). This should put it in your templates folder. Now choose to create a new document, using templates on your computer (the exact steps depend on the version of Word you're using). You should find your new template listed. Select it, and the new document will be pre-populated with the headers and footers :-) Cindy Meister INTER-Solutions, Switzerland http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister (last update Jun 17 2005) http://www.word.mvps.org This reply is posted in the Newsgroup; please post any follow question or reply in the newsgroup and not by e-mail :-) |

Master template
Hi Cindy,
If i do as you have suggested, only styles get saved not the content. My logo do not appear on my new document by default. I use Word 2003. Any suggestions to get the logo when i insert the template? If the logo is in the template, it should also be in every document created
based on the template. -- Suzanne S.
