Default Word 2007-Can you close a doc without shutting down Word

I'll be working on a document. Then I close the document. Word 2007 shuts
all the way down. The previous version didn't do this. You could close your
document but Word would remain open till you actually closed it. Any way
around this?

- Ctrl+W
- Ctrl+F4
- Office button Close
- Click the Office button, right-click the Close command, and choose "Add to
Quick Access Toolbar". Then use that button on the toolbar.

How do you close the document Cherry? When you close through the Office
button, Close button only the doc closes, not Word.

This happens to me intermittently for reasons that I do not know in Word
2003. It does not happen often enough for me to be concerned. I have VISTA so
I just chock it up to another VISTA quirk. smile
