Default can not name file using punctuation (period) in word 2003

have a user that could in word 2000 use a punctuation (period) when naming a
file to be saved. He now has word 2003 and he can't use this. he would like
to know why is that?

Default can not name file using punctuation (period) in word 2003

Put the filename in quotes and you can call it anything that does not use
reserved characters.
