You can't -- it's a permanent limitation. One workaround is to create a
userform instead. See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306258. For
additional background about userforms, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm.

Another possibility is to use an ActiveX combobox from the Control Toolbox.
