Footers & Headers
Using Office2003, when I send a Word document as an attached file by e-mail
to someone, the recipient does not see the footers / headers. Is this normal or is there some workaround to this? |

This is normal on that person's machine. Word is designed to get documents
out on paper. If they print it, it should show up. If they change their settings to print view rather than normal view, it will show up. Otherwise, convert it to a pdf file and send it that way. Unless I want the receiver to edit my document, I prefer to send as pdf anyway. That way it will look the same on their machine as on mine. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup. No. If you are sending the document as an attachment, the H&Fs are an
integral part of the document: sending it as an attachment is no different that giving it to the other person on a floppy disk or CD. If using the Word, Send To, Mail Recipient command, then the document will be send as an HTML email: in which case H&Fs are lost because there are no pages in HTML, so H&Fs don't exist. However, if you are sending this as an attachment, my guess is that the recipient has accidentally clicked on Hide White Space - which hides the H&Fs and spaces between text for fast scrolling through a document. If the user hovers the mouse cursor over the gap between pages, a Tooltip will pop up saying (Show White Space). If the user clicks the space, everything should come back. -- Terry Farrell - Word MVP http://word.mvps.org/ "Sitara Lal" wrote in message ... : Using Office2003, when I send a Word document as an attached file by : to someone, the recipient does not see the footers / headers.
