How can I insert footnotes from text in a textbox. e.g. I am using footnotes
in main text and textboxes under diagrams. I want to be able to reference
the diagrams.

I am not 100% certain, but I don't think you can. If all you need is text
is something that looks like a box then perhaps you could use a frame. You
can create footnotes from text in a frame. Oddly enough the insert frame
icon is on the forms toolbar.

Like Greg, I don't think you can, but you can use the technique at
