Word will only double space, not single space.
I have Office Home and Student 2007. When using and I set to single space, it
will only double space. double space is rediculously far apart. |

It's not double spacing. By default, the Normal style in Word 2007 has 1.15
line spacing and 10 pts Spacing After, which creates extra space between paragraphs. If you're getting extra space between lines, it's because you're pressing Enter at the end of every line. To return to single spacing with no inter-paragraph space, use Home | Styles | Change Styles | Style Set: Word 2003. -- Suzanne S. You can set the line spacing by clicking the LAUNCHER for the
Paragraph group on the Home tab of the ribbon. Are you saying that when you attempt to do that the option for setting to single spaced is grayed out or otherwise unavailable to change? If so, I've not heard of that one, but try hitting Ctrl + A to select all and then hit Ctrl + 1 on your alpha numeric keys, which is a shortcut to switching to single spacing (Ctrl + 5 = 1.5 spacing, Ctrl + 2 = double spacing).
