Default Why my list and paragraphs separate when using styles for an outli

I am doing an outline using styles and some of the text gets sent to another
page and it separates it from the title of the outline. In other words, as I
enter more lists on my outline, some of the text is separeted and I can not
bring it together again. This never happened in Word 2003. I don't see the
point in the title staying in one page the the rest of my outline in another
page. Please help.

Do your Heading Styles have the Keep with Next attribute set? Are you using
extra paragraph breaks to separate paragraphs instead of using Space Below
setting?

Is this an outline set up with the built-in heading styles? If so, note that
headings 1--4 have the "Keep with next" attribute set by default, which may
cause trouble in an outline where there is no or little "intervening" text.
Since Word must break the page at some point, you may see unexpected page
breaks in these cases (for example after a "blank" paragraph in Normal
style). The cure is to clear the "Keep with next" setting from at least
Heading 2--4 (Modify Style, Format, Paragraph).
