Default How do I password protect a "Word" Folder

I am aware how to Password Protect files but cannot seem to find out how to
protect Folders can anyone help please?

There is no function in Word to do this.

Default How do I password protect a "Word" Folder

In fact, there is no such thing as a 'Word Folder'... folders are a product
of your operating system's organizational structure in which you can store
any type of file you wish. Folder security needs to be handled through your
Windows OS or network admin.

That sounds encouraging, how then do I protect a folder thru the OS or admiin
Note I am running a stand alone system with XP Pro
