Problems with Templates Docs and Dots
Okay, i have got a big problem!
here in my office. they open a Doc File and then from it is starting a Dot File from the Intranet! it will open new Bars and new Options in the top of Word! How can i change this, because we must copy the Doc and Dot Files together in one directory on our own server? i think it has to do with the Templates and Add-Ins! One time, it opens a file from the intranet which has a http:\\ .... the other time it opens a file from local drive C:\Documents and Settings\ .... How can i put them together that they will open the files together??? Please i really need help!! |

Do you think you could take a breath, calm down, and try to explain your
problem again? I really can't make much sense of this - where is the .Doc file and which ..Dot file was it created from/is currently attached? What is happening and what do you want to happen? Taking a flying guess at it, maybe you need to put a copy of the correct ..Dot file in a templates folder (as determined by the file locations options). Provided it has the same filename as the template from which the ..Doc was originally created, Word should attach to this template rather than to one located anywhere else. (In recent versions of Word, a .Dot in the same folder as the .Dot will take precedence over the templates folder though.) -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "bigbootykilla" wrote in message ...
