You say you get the right result, so what else do you want?

Default "Find" functionality not working

A number of things can produce that result, such as inappropriate options
being enabled (Use wildcards, for example, can change how Word interprets
what's in the Find what: field), or if the document contains tracked changes
or certain field codes. The existence of certain characters in the text can
also prevent Find from finding. More info is needed.

If the document contains tracked changes, display those changes. Is it
possible that "deleted" text is intervening in the text you're searching
for? If it's not a tracked changes problem, it might take some detective
work to try to nail down exactly what's causing find to fail.

Is Find always not working? Or just stuff copied/pasted into the Find what
box? Are all such Finds failing?

I would start simply -- copying/pasting just a small bit of text (perhaps a
single word) -- and see if that works. If so, then add to it to see if you
can find out where the glitch is being introduced.
