Default How do I move a portion of text with footnotes?

I am trying to move text with footnotes from one document into another. This
normally works fine for me but in this case I am moving only a portion of the
text and I can't seem to cut both the text and the footnotes. Please help
me.

You cut the text, including the footnote reference marks, and the footnotes
come along automatically.
