When landscaping pages after 1st page header it repeats
I have a first page header different to the the rest of the document. when I
use page setup to landscape a page the first page header is repeated within that page, why? I want it to stick to the header used throughout the rest of the document. |

This is because when you change the orientation, section breaks are
inserted, and the settings of your existing section will be duplicated, creating a different first page header (and footer) for the landscape section. Also, newly inserted sections always have their headers (footers) linked to the corresponding headers (footers) of the previous section. Double-click the header to activate the header/footer area of the landscape section. Turn off "Same as Previous" (or "Link to previous" depending on your version of Word) by clicking the appropriate button (on the Header & Footer Tools ribbon of Word 2007, or on the Header and Footer toolbar of Word 97-2003). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Zannah" wrote in message ... In Headers and Footers view mode, the H&F box has a label "Same as previous",
the icon to toggle this is called "Link with previous". Hope this helps DeanH "Zannah" wrote: I have a first page header different to the the rest of the document. when I use page setup to landscape a page the first page header is repeated within that page, why? And once they are unlinked, you can edit the headers (footers) as desired.
In this case, you would want to copy and paste the contents of the main header. Alternatively, you could just clear the "Different first page" option for the landscape section. That will be easier in this case. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Stefan Blom" wrote in message ...
