[Compare document don't show changes]

I created a timesheet job in Word. It has the "keep date current" code.
Each day when an atty plays the macro to retrieve the timesheet, the date is
current which is what I want. They later close and save the timesheet.
Then, at a later date, say they need to pull up their saved timesheet to
check something they entered. I do not want the date to change now when they
open an existing job. What is the proper code to have for this in my
original document. This a Word job, not a template. Note: I have the form
protected so that it never gets overwritten.

It would be better to save the document as a template and create new
documents from it. However, if you use a Createdate field in place of the
Date field then use SaveAs to give the document a new name, the stored copy
will display the date it was first saved with the new name (you may need to
update the field in order for it to do so). Documents created from a
template with a createdate field will always show the date they were
created.

I'll try that. I tried doing a template, but I have no training in Word, our
office uses Word Perfect. I could never get the templates to work right.
They would freeze up and it would not be on each computer. I would have had
to go to each computer and make one.
