Default Date import using numerical abbreviations - 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.

Oops. Sorted this with a lot of help from here

I might be too optimistic in trying to achieve this, but is it possible to
format a mailmerged date in Word to include the abbreviations *st, *rd and
*nd, showing 1st December 2008, for example?

Thank you,
