Word 2007
Is it possible to modify Word 2007 so it opens each document in a new window,
like Excel does? I like that aspect of Excel as it means having closed all documents, the program itself doesn't close. |

Go to Office button Word Options Advanced, scroll down to the Display group, and check the box for "Show all windows in the taskbar". Even without that option, you can close the last document without closing the program. Use any one of these methods: - Press the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4 - Use only the lower of the two X buttons in the upper right corner, the one in the same row as the ribbon tabs (this exists only if the option is not checked) - Click the Office button and choose the Close command - Click the Office button, right-click the Close command, and choose "Add to Quick Access Toolbar"; then there will always be a Close button on the Quick Access Toolbar to use instead of the X button -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
