Default How Do I disable the Date Field in Word 2007?

I would like to keep a letter I wrote at the same date when I wrote it. When
I open the document, the Date field is updated which I don't want.

Thanks in Advance,

DeeDee G.

Alt+F9 to display the field code. Change DATE to CREATEDATE. Alt+F9 again
and F9 to update.
