Default Why the size of the file is so big?

I have created a new template with Word 2007, including our company graphics
as a background (in header, as I have understood in some topics). Then I
save this new template as dot, to be used in earlier versions of Office, as
not all of our employees have Office 2007 yet.

Anyhow, when they save the new document, the size of the new file is 11,2
MB, as the original template is 200kB, and saved in Word 2007 the same.

What could be the reason? Very grateful for any advice.

It sounds like that template is corrupted. Delete the template that makes huge
documents, clean out any leftover temporary files (see
http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm), and save a new 97-2003
format template from the 2007 original.

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately it did not help... Still the same problem
occurs.
With Word 2007 everything works fine, but the problem rises when Word 2003
(or 2002) user will save the document, based on this template as a new file.

Hi Kitten,

If, in Word 2007 you create a new document from either the 2007 or 2003 version of the template and save the new document what size
do you get for the document?

What is the file type of the inserted graphic?

Do you have a skydrive/blog/webpage/space where you can post a link to the two template files?
