document properties change
Can the process of upgrading the MS operating system affect the properties
in Word documents that were created in the "old" operating system? Specifically, can the upgrading process change the "created" property (date and time) of all Word documents that were created in the "old" operating system to a new value? TIA |

No, it shouldn't.
Interestingly, there are two two creation dates in Word documents. On the File menu, click Properties. On the General tab, you can see the date when the document was saved on disk (if it has been saved). This is also accessible from Windows Explorer. On the Statistics tab, Word shows the date when the document was created by Word. It is the latter value which is used by Word when you insert a CreateDate field. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Doug" wrote in message Can the process of upgrading the MS operating system affect the properties in Word documents that were created in the "old" operating system?
