Customising dialog file boxes
Using Win XP sp2 and MS Office XP
In the left side bar of open/save dialog boxes are a list of default options. I want to change the list of icons/ text and pointers to the relevant directories on various drives around the organisation. I used TweakUI to customise the Places bar. This made no change to the dialog boxes in Word or Excel. But it did change the open dialog boxes for Adobe Reader 7 and Endnote. The text captions were unfortunately arbitrarily chosen by the software. Now all have the same name of Velson, since my folders on the different drives have the same name to aid other users in finding files relevant to my work. So: 1. How should one apply the dialog box changes to MS Office programmes? 2. How does one specify meaningful text to go with each link? Thank you for your help. |
