Default Inserting a Header/Footer in Part of a Document

I would like to begin using a header/footer in my document starting at page
3. How do I set that up so that the header/footer does not appear on any of
the previous pages? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Insert a section break at the end of page 2. On page 3 insert your headers
and footers. De-select the 'Link to previous' button on the Headers and
Footers toolbar.

What type of section break would that be (e.g., next page, continuous, etc.)?
Thanks for your help.

For purposes of headers and footers it doesn't matter: it's a function of
the layout you're trying to achieve and the significance of the shift from
page 2 to page 3. From your description, 'next page' sounds most
appropriate. Why not experiment?
