Default How to copy a table from one Word document to another Word documen

I have a table ("table" not "table of contents") in one Word document and I
want to copy it to another Word document so that it looks exactly the same -
same formatting, everything. When I try, it looks completly unlike the
original. I am using Word 2007.

In Word 2007 (as well as Word 2003 and probably also Word 2002), all tables
have a table style. What you are experiencing is that the table style
definitions are different, which explains why the formatting changes as you
copy the table. In the source document, you may want to create a custom
table style with the desired settings; then copy and paste the table into
the target document.
