Default Tables Side-by-Side

I have a table on page 6 of a document, and another on page 7. They are both
comprised of 14 rows, but only 4 narrow columns each. It will be benificial
to display them on the same page, Side-by-Side, with a narrow separation
between them(they will fit)
They need to be editable so putting them in as graphical objects will not be
adequate.
Is there any way of accomplishing this?
Thanks for any help.

Yes. Select the two tables and the paragraph between them and format the
selection as two columns (Format | Columns).
