I select the whole table;
Select Table in menu bar;
Select Convert and nothing happens;
No sub-menu appears to enable selection of "Convert table to text" or
"Convert text to table"

Try just clicking in the table instead of selecting it, as that should
suffice (as opposed to text, where you do have to select it).
