Default PROBLEM: copying & pasting formatted text & pictures into Word... .woes :S

I am using MS Office Word 97 under Windows XP. I remember when I copy an
area eg. an email from Outlook Express and paste it into Word then I get all
formating and pictures.

Currently Word 97 loses all formating, and the pictures are blank! Is this
some kind of bug? I remember this works perfectly before... with all
formating and pictures retained.

Help!

Cross-posting has its uses but asking a specific Word 97 question
in two very busy Windows XP group is IMHO not appropriate use
of this tool.
