Autocorrect words where 2 letters are just reversed
Spell-check does a poor job of correcting simple misspelling of words. I
would expect "tahnks" to be automatically corrected to "thanks". Or, "conslutants" to be automatically corrected to "consultants". These words are only off by 1 letter. Though, there may be more than 1 word possible, it is more likely that "thanks" was meant to be typed instead of "tanks" because it does have an "h" in it, and is only off by the switching of 1 letter. One way to approach this is to just make it do a better job of correcting these types of words. Another approach is to have the option for this type of correction in the Options:Spelling and Grammar tab. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Autocorrect words where 2 letters are just reversed
When you correct any spelling, you have the option to add the correction as
an AutoCorrect entry. I suggest you use it. There is also an option (though I would consider it risky) to "Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker." The way this works is that any time Word has only one suggested correction for a misspelling, it will automatically be used as an autocorrection. If there are multiple suggested corrections, you still have to choose. -- Suzanne S.
