You can download the Compatibility Pack from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en and install it. Or you can ask the sender to save the document in the Word 97-2003 format and send that instead. (If they don't know how, tell them to click the Office button, hover the mouse over the Save As item, and click the Word 97-2003 Document item.) -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

There is a compatibility pack you can install on your computer, if you want.
Many of us think it's rude to expect others to install something to be able to access a file when they could have saved it as a .doc file in the first place. If you want to install the pack, http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "suzannetcl" wrote in message ...
