automated document generation (using WORD)
Does anyone know of books or other resources that can be studied to
automate letter merges with WORD. I would like to create letters as the main document in a merge process and then create the merge data files from a series of databases that do not link to WORD. Using macros I would select the letter to be merged and the file to be used as the data input. I had a process setup in WordPerfect in Unix to do the same thing, but with all of the automatic wizards that WORD has incorporated, programming flexibility is quickly going away. Any suggestions or help? |

See the article "Access a database and insert into a Word document the data
that you find there" at: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/InterDev/GetDataFromDB.htm There's all the programming flexibility that you would need in Word. The wizards have not compromised it in any way. -- Hope this helps. Please reply to the newsgroup unless you wish to avail yourself of my services on a paid consulting basis.
