'Check spelling as you type' feature works towards start of long Word 2003
doc, but no longer works towards end of same long doc? Whilst manual spell
checking still works fine, this forces a complete spell check to get the
spelling correct, which is a lengthy and frustrating process since this is a
long technical document with lots of "ignore" choices in the spell checking

At some point you may get a notice that "There are too many errors in this
document," and Word turns off "Check spelling as you type." You have several
alternatives:

1. You can tell Word to ignore some of the more common misspelled words
(this may not help).

2. You can add some of the more common words to the dictionary.

3. You can format some of the "misspelled" words as "Do not check spelling
or grammar." The easiest way to do this is to define a character style based
on Default Paragraph Font. It should be identical to the DPF style except
that the Language is formatted as "Do not check spelling or grammar." Apply
this character style (using the Style dialog, Styles & Formatting task pane,
keyboard shortcut, or toolbar button) to words that are marked as misspelled
but aren't.
