copying formula cells
Hi Tex,
I am trying to have a number appear a second time in a document to be derived from a formula in a table. for example, I have a table that shows a cell (sum left), I want to have this same sum appear in another table or page in a the document. And work with a field update Select the field that performs the Sum calculation (just the field, not the entire cell). Insert/Bookmark and give it a name. Now you can use a REF field (or Insert/Cross-Reference) to pick up the bookmark's contents. The "REF expenses" field appears (when showing field codes) but it doesn't
show anything in the cell with field codes turned off, or when update fields run. "Tex Shalter" wrote in message ... Thanks Cindy, Will give it a try soon |

When you have the display of bookmarks activated (ToolsOptionsView) what

The grey I indicates a single-point bookmark. You need to select the
contents of the cell and bookmark the whole thing. -- Suzanne S. Hi Tex,
It displays a grey "I" in front of the number in the cell Select the entire number, then Insert/Bookmark again, giving it the same name. If there's just a grey "I" in front, it means you didn't follow my instructions exactly: "Select the field that performs the Sum calculation (just the field, not the entire cell). Insert/Bookmark and give it a name." The bookmark needs to CONTAIN the information, it needs to look like [this]: square brackets around the information.
