Can't get/download Spanish Keyboard or switch from Eng to Span Kyb
In Windows Vista / Microsoft Office 2007 I cannot figure out what I need to
download in order to get a Spanish Keyboard. I create and edit documents mainly in Word, but also in other programs like PowerPoint. I would like to simply be able to switch between keyboards since I am familiar with the Spanish keyboard. (I usually do Spanish documents on a different computer; not very convenient!) I went to control panel and change keyboards, but the only language option I have is English. So now I'm trying to get Spanish, too, and I've spent about 3 hrs looking this stuff up online. All I've gotten is a bunch of jargon about LIPs and MUI packs. I am looking for a free method of getting a Spanish keyboard. I don't need the interface to display in a different language. It seemed like the two programs mentioned above were for multinational companies. There has to be an easier way! Please help, I'm desperate! |

This has nothing to do with Word; and I've never so much as touched a
computer running Vista, but how different could something so obscure be between XP and Vista? Start Control Panel Regional and Language Options Languages Details Add Add Spanish (and then pick the keyboard you're used to). Then to switch from English to Spanish typing, click the Language Bar icon down at the right of your Status Bar, and choose SP. The shortcut for changing keyboards is Alt+Shift -- each time you do that, it goes to the next one in the list. (Since you'll just have the two, it'll toggle between them.) Did you try changing your keyboard language? (I'm not sure if it'll work but
it's worth a try.) http://www.conversationexchange.com/...d-language.php -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Kirendall" wrote in message ... Thanks. In Vista it is pretty much the same. I was making a silly mistake.
I thought the add button was to add a keyboard (to start using it) and since English was the only language displayed, I never bothered to click "Add." Once I did, all the languages showed up and I only had to pick Spanish! Luckily the solution was right before my eyes... Thanks for your help! Well, in XP you have to choose from about 20 different national
standards for Spanish!
