Default It says my product code is not valid-Can't get in to Office 2003

My other computer crashed. I am trying to get Microsoft Office 2003. I put
in the product code it called for. It says it is wrong. It is the Microsoft
code I got when I purchased my laptop. What could be wrong? I have a
Microsoft Works Suite 99-should I install that one?

Was Office 2003 a trial version or the full OEM version? Also, are you sure
the product code is for Office (it's on a yellow/orange sticker on the CD
case or printed on the Certificate of Authenticity for Office 2003) and not
for Windows (usually on a sticker on the CPU)?

I am not sure if this is what is causing your problem, but if the software
came with the laptop, the licence to use it is probably only valid for its
use on that laptop.

But, see the Knowledge Base article ""Invalid product key" error message
when you start an Office 2003 program after you install Office Professional
Edition 2003" at:
