Default When starting Word, it always says preparing to install. Why?

header says it all. it takes almost 30 seconds to start Word because of this
promt. why? none of the other programs seem to have this issue, even within
Office. i just recently installed 2003, and word was the only one from 2000
that was previously installed. would that make any difference? its not a
hardware issue, this is a very fast unit.

Since you haven't received a reply to this, yet, you should try asking in the
office.setup newsgroup. A specialist there might have an idea or two.
