There is nothing like the predictive text you find in cell phones.

There are two features, AutoCorrect and AutoText, that store predefined
content (not just text but graphics, tables, etc.) and assign "names" or
"shortcuts" to them. Read
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...utoCorrect.htm and
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...n/AutoText.htm for explanations of
what they do and how to set them up.

However, the expansion of an AutoCorrect doesn't happen until you type a
space or punctuation after the complete "name". The expansion of an AutoText
entry doesn't happen until you type at least the unique first part of the
"name" (minimum of 4 characters) and press F3 or, in Word 2003 and earlier,
press Enter or Tab to accept the suggested replacement. Neither of these
behaves like the predictive text of a texting engine.

Not in the sense you are thinking of (like texting on a cell phone). In
versions through Word 2003, there is an AutoComplete function for AutoText
entries, but that requires you to create the entries.
