Default Comment Slowdown in Word 2007

I'm having a strange problem in Word 2007 (on Vista Ultimate), and I was
hoping someone could help me here.

I'm working in a document in the Print Layout view. When I insert a comment,
cursor navigation in the comment is very slow. For instance, holding the
right arrow key causes the cursor to move only in fits and starts. Typing in
the comment is similarly slow, in that there is a lag when I'm typing fast.

Moreover, even when I exit the comment and resume typing in the main text, I
have the same problem. Navigation is slow. Hidng the comments (by turning off
"View Markup") does not help.

If I close the file and reopen it, however, the problem goes away--even if
I'm viewing the comments. Once I add a new comment, however, the problem
returns.

Any ideas as to what's causing this? Can anyone else reproduce this problem?
(I have reproduced it in multiple files.)

Same thing is happening to me. Also happens if I use Track Changes. I
haven't found a solution. If you have, please let us in on it. Thanks.

I haven't found a solution yet. I'm just using the Comment function less
frequently!
